Une performance de jochen Roller et une conférence de Jean-Marc Avrilla en rapport direct avec l’exposition V.01 β, c’est à dire à l’intégration des technologies numériques dans l’art, en tant que sujet.
Pour moi pas vraiment de nouvelles interrogations mais plutôt une occasion de souligner davantage certains points tels que la visibilité (/invisibilité), l’obsolescence ou encore la mémoire. Il y a différents degrés d’interprétations à ces termes, je cherche aujourd’hui le mien.

I am staring at the picture you’ve placed up there of the set for No Money No Love. I must have watched this performance a dozen times on DVD, a DVD Roller himself sent back when I mistook him for a friend. I can’t believe he is going to auction all this stuff off. The Hello Kitty bag, the white-board with the « Lust for Life » Iggy Pop sticker, the creepy muscle-trainer, maybe even his green Peter Pan-esque training suit… What an utterly disrespectful shallow obnoxious way of carrying this great performance to its grave. The anti-hero Roller created for this performance was eminently more lovable than any of the racist sexist thugs that are the characters populating his most recent performances – that are understandably selling considerably less than the No Money No Love anti-hero, who was a smash-hit. Roller was so much better when he was « working at the car-wash » (Christina Aguilera song at the start of the performance) or even working as an Art Gigolo for a living to fund his performances. That’s right, Roller was making better shows when he was 6000 euros in debt, rather than whatever macho racist crapfests he is staging now for 31 000 euros.
RIP great lovable anti-hero of No Money No Love, too bad Roller would rather have you rest in auctioned-off pieces :-(
